About Confessional Lutheran Recovery:
Are you suffering from an addiction such as alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography, sex, overeating, etc.? Confessional Lutheran Recovery (CLR) offers hope! We will be having our first meeting in Fort Wayne on ___________ from _______ to _______ at ____________. CLR meetings are private and anonymous like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). What is shared there stays there. CLR is a 12-step program founded upon the scholarly work of the late Rev. Dr. Charles Knippel, professor of practical theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis 1971-1992, who worked in various positions related to alcohol rehabilitation from 1968-1976. Dr. Knippel modified the 12-steps of AA to include an intentionally Lutheran worldview. While keeping the basic methodology of the AA program intact he masterfully illuminated the applicable biblical truths that are available only to the Christian – by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Dr. Knippel’s book, Freedom from Hurtful Behaviors – What the Bible Teaches About Liberation and Renewal (CPH 2002), forms the basis of our distinctively Lutheran 12-step program. The first twelve individuals to arrive at the meeting on ____ will receive a free copy of this book. We will also focus on the physical, mental, and psychological aspects of addiction and recovery. Contact ConfessionalLutheranRecovery@gmail.com for any questions you have. In addition to the 12-steps, we also examine the physical, mental, and psychological aspects of addiction and recovery.
